Ingredients
- 1 cup elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- Vegetable oil spray
Instructions
- Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour, whisking to create a roux for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add milk while whisking until smooth. Stir in seasonings and simmer until thickened.
- Mix in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted and smooth. Combine with cooked macaroni; cool for 15 minutes.
- Form small balls from the mixture, then coat each in egg and breadcrumbs.
- Spray lightly with vegetable oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
