- 8 oz cream cheese
- 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 2 large eggs, divided
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add diced onion; cook until soft (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and mushrooms; sauté until browned (about 8 minutes).
- Add thyme, salt, pepper, and apple vinegar (if using). Cook until liquid is absorbed; reduce heat.
- Stir in cream cheese, Parmesan, and Dijon mustard (if using) until creamy. Remove from heat; mix in Gruyère.
- Unroll puff pastry on a clean surface. Cut diagonal strips on each side while leaving the center intact for filling.
- Spread the mushroom mixture down the center of the pastry strip; braid the strips over the filling alternately from each side.
